Sunset Park

Open daily from 6:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. Splash-pad, field, reservation and event operations may use shorter or seasonal schedules.

Large free lots are distributed around the park. Choose the pond, splash pad and playgrounds, dog park, sports complex or dunes before entering because walking across the full park is substantial.

The eastern side serves many sports and administrative facilities, while family recreation, pond, disc golf and dunes use different lots. Follow the County map and internal signs.

Restrooms are available near major athletic, family and reservable picnic areas. Facility cleaning, events and late hours can affect individual buildings.

Ordinary park, playground, splash pad, paths, dog park, courts and disc golf access are free. Fishing requires a Nevada license, and reservations or organized events cost separately.

Paved paths, accessible parking and developed recreation areas provide broad access. Disc-golf terrain, sand dunes and some grass routes are less predictable.

Leashed dogs are allowed in ordinary park areas, with a designated off-leash dog park. Keep dogs away from playgrounds, splash water, wildlife and signed protected areas.

Five playgrounds, a seasonal splash pad, pond, lawns and shaded picnic areas support a full family visit. Shade is not continuous, and surface temperatures become dangerous in summer.

RTC routes serve Sunset Road and nearby corridors. Confirm the stop nearest your activity because the park's 324-acre footprint makes a wrong-side arrival inconvenient.

Large festivals and tournaments can reserve lawns, fields and parking. The protected dunes are a historic habitat area rather than a free-play sand hill; remain on designated paths and overlooks.

Check current Southern Nevada weather and operator alerts. Extreme heat, UV, flash flooding, lightning, high wind, wildfire smoke and fire restrictions can close trails, roads, water access or outdoor facilities independently.
