Calico Creek Boardwalk

Morehead City park properties are generally open from dawn to dusk. Lighted athletic fields and courts may remain open for scheduled activities. Check the facility page for temporary closures before a time-sensitive visit.

The town says the boardwalk begins around North 19th and Bay Street and runs along Calico Creek toward North 22nd Street. It also connects into the longer Calico Creek walking and biking route.

The route combines elevated wooden boardwalk and connecting paved sidewalk or trail segments. Wet weather can make wood slick, and marsh edges can flood during exceptional tides.

The marsh setting is useful for shorebirds, waterfowl and creek views, especially around quieter morning and evening periods. Observe wildlife from the path and do not enter the marsh.

No restroom is listed directly on the boardwalk. The longer route connects near W.S. King Recreation Center, where public facilities may be available during center hours.
