Mazeppa Park

645 Mazeppa Road, Mooresville, NC 28115. This large sports and trail campus is north of downtown near the Motorplex; follow internal signs for the correct field, shelter, playground, or mountain-bike access.

Enter at 645 Mazeppa Road and use the lot nearest your assigned field, playground, shelter, or trail access. The 162.8-acre campus is too large to treat every lot as equally convenient, and tournaments can fill parking quickly.

The general park is open sunrise to sunset. The Town lists lighted fields as closing at 11 p.m. and lighted courts at 10 p.m.; games, reservations, maintenance, and trail conditions can create different access windows.

General park, playground, walking, mountain-bike, and open-space access is free. League play, tournaments, programs, concessions, and shelter or field reservations may have separate costs.

Restrooms and a concession area serve the developed sports complex. Availability can follow games, staffing, maintenance, or seasonal schedules, so do not assume every building remains open for all trail or park hours.

Developed parking and paths serve the primary fields, playground, shelters, concessions, and restrooms. Natural terrain and mountain-bike trails are not equivalent to paved accessible routes; confirm the closest lot and surface for a specific destination.

The park includes a walking route and natural-surface mountain-bike trails. Trail surfaces, roots, mud, grades, and directional rules can vary; avoid riding when wet and follow current signs so fields and natural areas are protected.

Playgrounds, ballfields, open space, shelters, walking, and youth sports make Mazeppa useful for families. Because destinations are spread out, identify the correct field or activity before arrival and bring sun, water, and weather protection.

Keep dogs leashed and controlled, remove waste, and keep them off active fields, playgrounds, concession and restroom areas, and bike-trail travel lines. Mazeppa Park does not have a designated dog park.

The park has both reservable and non-reservable picnic shelters. Reserve ahead for teams or groups, name the exact shelter in invitations, and avoid blocking field circulation or trail access.

Major orientation points are the baseball and softball complex, multipurpose fields, playgrounds, reservable and open shelters, concession and restroom area, walking route, mountain-bike trail system, and surrounding natural acreage.

Tournaments, league reservations, field recovery, storms, wet trails, maintenance, and nearby large events can affect parking or individual facilities. Lighted play may continue after the general sunrise-to-sunset window only when scheduled.
