Quest Nature Center

Quest Nature Center is a staffed or separately operated facility associated with Latta Nature Preserve; building hours may be shorter than the surrounding grounds.

Free parking is distributed among Quest, trail, equestrian, paddling and partner-facility nodes, with roughly 200 spaces in the principal county inventory. Choose the activity before entering because destinations are widely separated.

The preserve is open daily from sunup to sundown. Quest Nature Center is open Monday-Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m.; partner facilities, programs and water access may differ. This feature may have shorter, seasonal or daylight-only hours.

Quest has restrooms during building hours, and selected developed areas have facilities. Remote trails and shoreline routes do not provide continuous restrooms or drinking water.

General preserve, trail and shoreline access is free. Programs, rentals and the separately operated Carolina Raptor Center may charge; anglers age 16 and older generally need a North Carolina fishing license.

Quest and developed parking support accessible visits, while natural trails, shoreline, equestrian routes and launch areas vary in slope and surface. Ask staff for the best route for a specific mobility need.

Leashed dogs may use permitted outdoor areas. Yield widely to horses, keep pets out of nature-center and wildlife exhibits unless service-animal policy applies, and follow Carolina Raptor Center rules separately.

Quest's aquarium, live animals and exhibits make the best family starting point. Pair them with a short trail or shoreline stop rather than committing young children to an unfamiliar long loop.

Ordinary transit is not practical for most preserve destinations. Plan a car, bicycle or arranged ride and confirm return transportation before the preserve closes at sundown.
