Lake Rim Park

2214 Tar Kiln Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28304. This is the regional park and ranger-office destination, separate from Lake Rim Recreation Center and Lake Rim Aquatic Center addresses.

Use 2214 Tar Kiln Drive for Lake Rim Park. Do not navigate to the recreation center on Hoke Loop Road or aquatic center when your destination is the park trail, playgrounds, or ranger office.

Park hours are 7 a.m.-9 p.m. March-October and 7 a.m.-5 p.m. November-February. The office is generally open Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; programs and nearby aquatics use separate schedules.

General park, playground, trail, StoryWalk, courts and fields when unreserved are free. Shelter and field reservations, outreach programs, and separate aquatic facilities may charge.

Restrooms are listed park features near developed recreation and shelter areas. They are not continuous along the wetland border trail.

Developed parking, playground, shelter, court, field and restroom areas provide practical options, while wetland paths, natural surfaces and the Bones Creek route vary.

The signature border trail is about one mile through wetlands toward Bones Creek. The park also has developed walking connections among fields, playgrounds, courts and picnic areas.

Multiple playgrounds, StoryWalk, monthly scavenger activities, sports areas, picnic shelters and a short nature trail support both active and low-key family visits.

Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome when kept under control. Remove waste and keep pets away from playground activity, reserved fields, programs and sensitive wetland habitat.

Picnic shelters and areas are first come, first served unless reserved. Reserve through the park office for guaranteed group use.

Key areas include the playgrounds, StoryWalk, one-mile wetland border trail, Bones Creek direction, picnic shelters, athletic fields, tennis courts and ranger office.

Heavy rain, wetland flooding, field conditions, reservations, maintenance and seasonal closing times can affect parts of the park. Aquatic and recreation-center notices do not necessarily apply to this separate property.
