Leigh Farm Park

Use the entrance at 370 Leigh Farm Road. Parking is intentionally limited to protect the historic setting, and visitors should expect a walk from the entrance lot.

Park gates are open daily year-round from 8 a.m. to dark. Public tours are normally offered Saturdays from April through mid-December, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., subject to staffing and events.

General park, trail, historic-ground, picnic, and disc-golf access are free. Camps, programs, private tours, tournaments, and reservations may charge or require registration.

Restrooms and a water fountain are listed park features near developed visitor areas. Do not assume facilities are available deep within wooded acreage.

Limited parking and required walking are important constraints. Historic buildings, older surfaces, wooded trails, and the disc-golf course vary; contact DPR before relying on a specific step-free tour.

Wooded park routes connect the historic core and broader property, while the 18-hole disc-golf course crosses recreation terrain. Expect natural surfaces beyond developed visitor areas.

Families can explore historic grounds, scheduled tours, picnic tables, wooded areas, wildlife programs, and disc golf. Interpret the plantation and enslaved-person history thoughtfully with children.

Keep dogs leashed and away from historic buildings, wildlife programs, camps, and active disc-golf play. Follow posted park and partner-program rules.

Picnic tables support casual visits. Contact DPR for groups, programs, commercial activity, exclusive setups, or gatherings that could affect the historic site.

The historic core includes Leigh House, dairy, enslaved peoples cabins, smokehouse, corn crib, well house, carriage house, cemetery, tobacco barn, and pack house.

Tours, visitor-center access, partner programs, historic interiors, disc-golf events, weather, and preservation work can change independently. Verify a building-specific visit before traveling.
