McEachern Greenway

For a practical southern trailhead use Les Myers Park, 338 Lawndale Avenue; J.W. Mickey McGee Park and Wilson Street Park provide additional official access. The 2.2-mile route follows Three-Mile Branch through central Concord.

Official trail parking is available at Les Myers Park, J.W. Mickey McGee Park, and Wilson Street Park. Choose a trailhead for your planned segment instead of assuming the full route returns to your vehicle.

Use the greenway during posted park and daylight conditions. Connected parks, restrooms, underpasses, construction areas, and downtown facilities use separate schedules and may close for flooding or work.

General greenway and connected-park access are free. Parking restrictions, rentals, programs, events, and downtown services may have separate costs.

Restrooms are available at Les Myers and McGee parks during operating conditions. Wilson Street Park has had restroom and trailhead construction, so verify current availability before relying on that stop.

The developed route is intended for shared walking, rolling, and cycling access, but grades, bridges, underpasses, road crossings, flooding, construction, and park connections vary by segment.

The route is about 2.2 miles: roughly one mile from McGee Park to Les Myers Park and 1.2 miles north from McGee to the turnaround beyond Wilson Street. The Downtown Connector and sidewalks create an approximately four-mile loop.

A short out-and-back from Les Myers or McGee Park pairs trail time with playgrounds, restrooms, and recreation. Supervise children at road crossings, underpasses, bridges, water, and faster bicycle traffic.

Leashed dogs may use the greenway where posted rules permit. Keep leashes short around cyclists and crossings, remove waste, and follow separate rules inside connected parks.

Use designated picnic facilities at connected parks rather than stopping across the shared trail. Reserve shelters for guaranteed group use.

Key connections include Les Myers Park, J.W. Mickey McGee Park, Wilson Street Park, Three-Mile Branch, the Downtown Connector, LifeTrail fitness stations, Corban Avenue and Cabarrus Avenue underpasses, and the Downtown Greenway Loop.

Flooding, high water, ice, storms, bridge or underpass work, Wilson Street construction, utility projects, and park closures can interrupt sections. Check current City notices after severe weather.
