Cedar Falls Park

501 Weaver Dairy Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27514, across from East Chapel Hill High School. Use the main park lot for fields, playground, shelter, restrooms, tennis area, and Cedar Falls Trail.

Use the large main lot at 501 Weaver Dairy Road. Parking-lot paving and striping work has been phased to keep most spaces open, but construction and tournament demand can reduce capacity.

The park and natural trail are open dawn to dusk. Lighted athletic facilities may operate until 11 pm when scheduled. Tennis courts remain listed as closed for reconstruction until the Town announces reopening.

General park, playground, trail, and casual access are free. Fields, tennis courts when reopened, shelter, programs, and organized uses may require reservations and fees.

Restrooms serve the developed field, playground, and shelter area. Hours may track park operations, field schedules, and construction access.

The Town describes the main parking area as ADA compliant and is completing an ADA-compliant sidewalk as part of the tennis reconstruction. The natural trail has variable soil, roots, grades, and wet conditions.

Cedar Falls Trail is a 1.5-mile natural-surface route through creek-side and passive-recreation areas with neighborhood connections. Expect mud after rain and return before dusk.

The playground, shelter, ball fields, benches, restrooms, and creek-side trail make a flexible family visit. Do not promise tennis until the Town posts that reconstruction is complete and courts are open.

Keep dogs leashed and controlled, remove waste, and stay outside playgrounds, fields, courts, buildings, and posted construction zones.

A reservable shelter and picnic area serve the park. Reserve for guaranteed group use and check construction or tournament schedules before directing a large group.

Look for the Weaver Dairy Road entrance, East Chapel Hill High School opposite the park, main lot, three turf fields, youth and adult baseball fields, playground, shelter, restrooms, six-court tennis complex, and Cedar Falls Trail entrance.

The six lighted tennis courts are currently listed as closed for reconstruction. Parking improvements and final electrical, sidewalk, plaza, bleacher, and landscaping work may affect nearby access; athletic reservations and weather affect fields.
