Lake Mackintosh Park and Marina

2704 Huffman Mill Road, Burlington, NC 27215. Use the staffed marina gate for boat ramps, rental boats, pier and bank fishing, playground, picnic sites, shelter, and lakeside clubhouse.

Enter through the marina gate and park in signed areas for boat trailers, fishing, playground, picnic, shelter, or clubhouse use. Do not use trailer spaces for ordinary park visits during busy boating periods.

The park is closed every Monday and Tuesday. In 2026 gate hours vary from 8 am-5 pm in winter to 6:30 am-8 pm in peak summer. The park, bank fishing, and rentals end 30 minutes before gate closing; boat launching ends 90 minutes before closing.

Bank fishing is $3 for adults and $2 for seniors; private boat launch is $10/$7; kayak, canoe, or SUP launch is $7/$5. Solo kayaks and rowboats are $25, tandem kayaks or canoes $30, with separate season passes and rental fees.

Restrooms are available in the developed marina and park area during operating hours. They are unavailable when the gated facility is closed Monday, Tuesday, overnight, or for weather.

Developed parking, pier, picnic, and building approaches serve the park, but bank-fishing terrain, docks, water levels, boat transfer, and individual rental craft vary. Contact marina staff for specific assistance.

This destination emphasizes shoreline recreation rather than a documented long trail. Walk only in designated park areas and stay out of reservoir buffer or operational zones.

The playground, picnic sites, lake views, fishing pier, rental boats, and shelter work for families. Swimming, wading, skiing, and personal watercraft are prohibited because this is a drinking-water reservoir.

Keep dogs leashed in allowed land areas, remove waste, and keep pets away from playgrounds, buildings, docks, rental craft, fishing activity, and protected reservoir edges as posted.

Picnic tables and grills, an open-air rental shelter, and a lakeside clubhouse support groups. Reserve ahead and remember the entire facility follows marina gate days and seasonal hours.
