Burlington City Park

Main park address: 1388 Main Street, Burlington, NC 27215. The Splash Park uses 1400 Overbrook Road, and individual athletic, aquatic, pickleball, tennis, event, and amusement destinations have different internal approaches.

Choose the entrance for your destination rather than relying on one central space. Main Street serves the park core; Overbrook Road is useful for the Splash Park and nearby facilities. Festivals and tournaments can change traffic and fill lots.

The outdoor park is open daily sunrise to sunset. Amusement rides follow a seasonal weekly schedule, generally weekends year-round with additional Friday and summer weekday hours; all ride operations are weather permitting. Aquatic and splash facilities have separate schedules.

General park, playground, walking, and open-space access are free. Ride tickets cost $1 each; the carousel and train require two tickets, other kiddie rides one. The Splash Park is free with registration and capacity limits. Aquatics, courts, rentals, and programs may charge separately.

Restrooms are available around developed park, amusement, splash, aquatic, shelter, and athletic nodes during their operating periods. Individual buildings and concessions do not remain open for all park hours.

The park includes an ADA-inclusive playground and an accessible miniature-train car. The train ramp cannot accommodate powered wheelchairs and has a 600-pound maximum; contact staff for current boarding details. Paved routes serve major facilities.

Walking tracks, greenway links, and internal paths connect many park nodes. The campus is large, so use a current map and do not assume every attraction is a short walk from the same parking area.

The carousel, train, kiddie rides, inclusive playground, free seasonal Splash Park, picnic areas, and events make this a major family destination. Check ride height limits, weather, splash registration, and attraction hours before promising a full itinerary.

Use the designated Jiggs Askew Dog Park for off-leash activity and leash dogs elsewhere. Pets are not appropriate in ride queues, playgrounds, splash or aquatic areas, courts, fields, buildings, and food-service spaces.

Open-air and enclosed shelters, gazebos, grills, tables, lawns, and event spaces support gatherings. Reserve for guaranteed group use and specify the exact facility when directing guests.

Key landmarks include the Carousel House and 1906-1910 Dentzel carousel, miniature train and tunnel, planes, cars and boats rides, concessions, inclusive playground, Splash Park, Maynard Aquatic Center, pickleball and tennis complexes, softball fields, Jimmy Combs Stage, shelters, and walking track.

Rides are weather permitting and close on New Year's Day, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Splash, aquatic, field, court, festival, and construction schedules can affect individual areas while the general park remains open.
