Lake of the Woods

Lake of the Woods is a distinct mapped destination within Swope Park; navigate to this point instead of the general park pin and check posted conditions on arrival.

Free lots are distributed across the enormous park. Navigate to the zoo, Starlight, nature center, soccer village, dog park or selected trailhead rather than the general park pin.

General park grounds are open daily 5:00 a.m.-midnight. The zoo, Starlight Theatre, Lakeside Nature Center, golf courses and other facilities keep separate hours and admission rules.

Restrooms are concentrated at staffed attractions, recreation facilities and reservable picnic areas; wooded trailheads may have no dependable facilities.

General park and trail access is free. The zoo, performances, golf, rentals, programs and some attractions charge separately.

Major attractions and developed recreation areas have accessible parking and routes, while natural trails, older picnic areas and steep wooded terrain vary.

Leashed dogs are allowed in ordinary outdoor park areas; off-leash use belongs inside the designated dog park. Attractions set separate animal rules.

The zoo, nature center and picnic areas are strong family choices, but they are spread apart and cannot be treated as one walkable complex.
