Penn Valley Park

General park grounds are open daily 5:00 a.m.-midnight. The National WWI Museum, Liberty Memorial Tower and recreation facilities keep separate schedules.

Use museum parking for a museum visit and the closest signed park lot or street space for The Scout, dog park, skate park or lake. Event parking controls can change access.

Steep grades and divided roads separate attractions. Select the museum grounds, The Scout, lake, dog park or skate park before entering.

The museum provides dependable facilities for ticketed visitors during its hours; outdoor park facilities are limited and seasonal.

Outdoor park grounds, memorial exterior and The Scout are free. Museum galleries and Liberty Memorial Tower require admission; events may affect parking.

Museum approaches are accessible, but historic park grades around the lake and The Scout can be steep; use the closest destination parking.

Leashed dogs are welcome in ordinary outdoor areas, with off-leash use limited to the designated dog park.

The memorial grounds and skyline views work for a short visit; combine them with the museum only after checking ticket and tower schedules.

RideKC service, downtown bike routes and the Main Street streetcar corridor reach the surrounding area, with an uphill walk to some destinations.

Do not confuse free memorial grounds with museum admission. Large events, ceremonies, weather and road closures can alter parking and access.
