Kessler Park

General park grounds are open daily 5:00 a.m.-midnight. The Kansas City Museum, fountains and programmed facilities keep separate hours.

Parking is distributed along Gladstone Boulevard, The Concourse and named overlooks. Cliff Drive is closed to motorized vehicles every day, so use a legal approach outside its barriers.

Choose The Concourse, North Terrace Lake, Cliff Drive, a trailhead or the museum first; steep bluffs and road closures separate portions of the park.

Dependable restrooms are limited to staffed facilities and scheduled recreation areas; plan before using remote trails or overlooks.

Park roads, overlooks, lake and trails are free. Museum programs, rentals and special events may charge.

The Concourse and museum approaches offer developed routes, while bluff trails, stairs, limestone edges and natural surfaces can be difficult.

Leashed dogs are welcome in ordinary outdoor areas; keep them controlled near cliffs, cyclists and habitat areas.

The Concourse and North Terrace Lake are the simplest family stops. Bluff trails require close supervision and weather-appropriate footwear.

RideKC serves nearby Northeast neighborhoods, but distance and elevation from stops vary by destination.

Cliff Drive is currently closed to motorized vehicles every day but remains a recreation corridor under posted rules. Treat overlooks and limestone bluff edges cautiously, especially after rain, snow or ice.

Check current Kansas City metro weather and operator alerts. Missouri River conditions, flash flooding, lake status, heat, severe storms, snow, ice and high winds can close trails or facilities independently.
