Goldring Woldenberg Riverfront Park

Open Sunday-Thursday 6:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 6:00 a.m.-midnight; Aquarium, ferry, events, food, and individual facilities keep separate schedules.

Use paid downtown garages, metered spaces, transit, ferry, walking, biking, or rideshare. The park does not provide one large free visitor lot.

Choose Canal Street/Spanish Plaza for the Aquarium and ferry, or St. Philip Street for the 2026 Governor Nicholls expansion, playground, and NOLA Front Porch.

Restroom access varies across the long riverfront and may depend on operating attractions or event facilities. Plan a known stop before walking the full corridor.

Public park access, river views, paths, lawns, playground, misters, and Front Porch are free. Aquarium, parking, ferry fares, food, and events cost separately.

The renewed riverfront emphasizes continuous paved access, but long distances, transitions between phases, event barriers, and historic edges still require route planning.

Leashed dogs may use ordinary public outdoor areas; playgrounds, Aquarium spaces, events, food areas, and ferry operations have separate restrictions.

The new marsh playground, shaded seating, cooling misters, ships, Aquarium plaza, and broad promenade create a strong downtown family destination.

Canal streetcar, buses, ferry, biking, walking, and rideshare reach the riverfront. Plan different start and finish points for the full 2.25-mile route.

The riverfront changed substantially in April 2026. Use St. Philip Street for the new playground phase, watch children beside the working river, and check storms, heat, events, and ferry conditions.

Check New Orleans' hourly heat index, lightning, severe-storm and heavy-rain alerts, flash-flood risk, tropical weather, air quality, and current facility notices. Pavement, play equipment, levees, and exposed riverfront paths become dangerously hot, while low trails and streets may flood quickly.
