Grant Park

Grant Park is generally open daily 6 a.m.-11 p.m. Buckingham Fountain, Museum Campus institutions, fields, concessions, and major events follow separate schedules.

Paid underground garages and Museum Campus lots serve different sections. Major festivals, races, concerts, and Bears events can close roads and sharply change prices or availability.

Choose Buckingham Fountain, the south gardens, Museum Campus, a field, or an event entrance. The Grant Park name covers a large area from Randolph Street to Roosevelt Road.

Seasonal and event restrooms are distributed through developed areas, with additional facilities at nearby institutions. Confirm the closest current option before a long lawn visit.

General park, fountain, garden, art, and trail access is free. Parking, museums, concessions, permits, and ticketed events charge separately.

Broad paved routes connect major attractions, but road crossings, event fencing, lawns, crowding, and long distances require a destination-specific approach.

Leashed dogs are allowed in general outdoor areas; keep them out of fountains, gardens, athletic play, beaches, and events where posted restrictions apply.

Buckingham Fountain, lawns, gardens, lake views, and nearby museums work well for families. Plan around shade, distance, and event closures.

Multiple CTA and Metra stations serve the west and north edges; Museum Campus destinations require a longer eastward or southward walk.

Grant Park hosts some of Chicago's largest events. Always check the Park District and City event calendars before assuming the normal walking route, lawn access, or parking pattern.
