Okeeheelee Park

The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset. Lighted courts and permitted athletic fields may operate until 10 p.m.; the Nature Center is open Wednesday–Friday 1–4:30 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.–4:30 p.m., excluding County holidays.

Use 7715 Forest Hill Boulevard, West Palm Beach, FL 33413 for the main park, golf course, and Nature Center access. Okeeheelee Park South and the mountain-bike trailhead use Pinehurst Road and are not at the same entrance.

Parking is distributed across multiple activity zones. Follow internal signs for the Nature Center, Pooch Pines, golf, BMX, lakes, playgrounds, fields, or disc golf rather than stopping at the first lot.

The Nature Center has 2.5 miles of quiet natural trails through 90 acres of pine flatwoods and wetlands. A separate 4.1-mile mountain-bike trail is south of Forest Hill Boulevard, and paved fitness and recreation routes serve the main park.

Pooch Pines Dog Park is near the main Forest Hill Boulevard entrance and just before the turn to Okeeheelee Nature Center. Pets are not permitted inside the Nature Center or on its protected trails.

Yes. The official map identifies multiple play areas within the large park. Use the current park map to choose the closest entrance and lot, because recreation zones are spread far apart.

General park access, parking, playgrounds, dog park, open spaces, and Nature Center trails are free. Golf, BMX, wakeboarding, rentals, classes, permits, reserved facilities, and organized programs can charge separately.

As of July 2026, the BMX Track parking lot is closed through September 30, the tennis courts are closed for approximately six weeks of repair beginning July 10, and Osceola Pavilion is unavailable until further notice. All construction dates are weather-dependent.

Restrooms and drinking fountains are distributed among the main recreation zones and appear on the official ADA map. Because the park covers more than 1,600 acres, select the facility nearest your playground, pavilion, lake, dog park, field, or trailhead before parking.

Yes. Single-table picnic areas and family shelters are free and first come, first served from sunrise to sunset. Alligator, Micanopy, and Tuskeegee are reservable group pavilions; Osceola Pavilion is currently closed and unavailable for rental.

Use the County's ADA map to locate accessible parking, restrooms, drinking fountains, paved paths, play areas, fishing access, and pavilions. Nature, equestrian, and mountain-bike trails use different surfaces and are not substitutes for the mapped paved routes.

Family picnic shelters and the Alligator, Micanopy, and Tuskeegee group pavilions provide covered gathering areas; Osceola Pavilion is currently closed. The Nature Center offers indoor exhibits during limited Wednesday-Saturday hours, and pine-flatwoods trails provide intermittent tree cover. Lakes, athletic fields, golf, BMX, equestrian areas, and long paths are exposed, so leave the water and use an open substantial building or vehicle during lightning or severe weather.

Okeeheelee does not list a public swimming beach or conventional splash pad. Its lakes support specific activities: non-motorized boating and fishing at one lake, permitted competitive water skiing at designated courses, and a separately operated commercial wake and aqua park. Do not enter a lake for casual swimming from a picnic area, trail, dock, or boat ramp. If visiting Shark Wake Park, confirm its admission, operating schedule, age rules, waivers, and required safety equipment directly with that operator.

Palm Tran serves Forest Hill Boulevard at Okeeheelee Park Road, including stops on both sides of the intersection. That reaches the park perimeter, not every attraction: the nature center, equestrian center, dog park, golf course, BMX track, wake park, picnic shelters, and sports areas are spread across the large property. Okeeheelee Nature Center is a useful family anchor with exhibits, live-animal encounters, a viewing pond, and 2.5 miles of trails through 90 acres of pine flatwoods and wetlands. Elsewhere, the large park contains separate lake districts for nonmotorized boating, fishing and water sports, Pooch Pines dog park, golf, BMX and pump track, disc golf, playgrounds, picnic shelters, sports fields and courts, an equestrian center, and mountain-bike access toward Okeeheelee Park South.
