Lettuce Lake Park

Open daily from 8:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. in spring and summer and 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. in fall and winter. Gates and individual facilities may close earlier for weather or construction.

Pay the $2 vehicle entry fee at the entrance and use the lot nearest your destination. Lot E is the practical current approach to the east boardwalk entrance while the nature-center-side entrance is renovated.

For the current open boardwalk approach, follow park signs toward Parking Lot E. The entrance behind the Joel E. Jackson Nature Center is closed during renovation.

Restrooms are available in the developed picnic and visitor areas. Do not count on a facility once you are deep on the boardwalk or loop; use one before starting the route.

Entry is $2 per vehicle for up to eight people, cash only according to the current county page. Shelter rentals and programs cost separately; canoe and kayak rentals are currently suspended.

The paved 1.25-mile loop, new adaptive playground equipment and developed areas provide accessible options. Construction currently affects the boardwalk entrance and observation tower, so follow the posted accessible route.

Leashed pets are allowed in ordinary park areas but are not permitted on the boardwalk. Bicycles are also prohibited on the boardwalk.

Two playgrounds added in 2024 include swings, adaptive and sensory equipment and a nature scavenger hunt. The shaded boardwalk is a strong wildlife outing, but supervise children closely by water and railings.

HART service runs along the Fletcher Avenue corridor, but the park entrance and internal destinations can require a substantial walk. A car or rideshare is generally the simplest approach.

As of June 2026, sections of the boardwalk are under repair, shelters 5 and 7 and the observation tower are closed, and the canoe/kayak launch and rentals are suspended. Enter the boardwalk from the east side near Lot E.

Check current Tampa Bay weather and operator alerts. Heat, lightning, tropical weather, heavy rain, wind, tides, rip currents and water-quality notices can close trails, beaches, splash pads, boat access or facilities independently.
