Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park

Park grounds are open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The Louvre splash fountain normally runs April-October from 9:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. and November-March from 10:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.; water features can stop for cold weather, maintenance or events.

The William F. Poe Garage at 800 North Ashley Drive is the most practical general option, with metered street spaces and other downtown garages nearby. Event days can fill the closest facilities and change rates.

Use Ashley Drive for the lawn, playground and museums. The park is also directly on the Tampa Riverwalk, with a boat dock and Pirate Water Taxi stop along the river edge.

Public restrooms are shown near the central park facilities, but museum and nearby business restrooms follow their own admission and hours. Confirm availability during large events or late visits.

The park, playground, splash fountains, dog areas and Riverwalk are free. Parking, water taxi rides, museums, food and ticketed events cost separately.

The main lawn edges, Riverwalk, playground approach and museum connections are paved and broadly level. Use Poe Garage accessible parking or the nearest legal drop-off for the shortest route.

Dogs are welcome on leash outside the designated dog areas. Separate small- and large-dog parks opened in 2026; dogs remain excluded from playground and splash-water areas under posted rules.

The shaded playground and seasonal fountains sit close together, with museums immediately beside the park. Bring water and sun protection because the Great Lawn is exposed despite shaded seating near play areas.

TECO Line Streetcar, HART buses, Downtown Tampa DASH, Pirate Water Taxi and Riverwalk routes all serve the downtown waterfront; verify the closest current stop for your approach.

The Great Lawn is a major event venue, so concerts and festivals can fence sections, limit ordinary access and change parking. Check the City event calendar and fountain status before a water-play trip.
