St. Pete Pier

The Pier opens 30 minutes before sunrise and closes at 11:00 p.m. Glazer Family Playground runs 7:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. and the Majeed Foundation Splash Pad 9:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.; businesses keep separate hours.

More than 500 paid onsite spaces are available in the Dolphin and Pelican lots and along Pier Drive, but parking is limited to six hours. Peak demand is typically Friday 4:00-9:00 p.m. and Saturday 1:00-8:00 p.m.; downtown garages are useful for longer visits.

Enter from Second Avenue Northeast. Families may stop near the playground and splash pad, while the free accessible tram reduces the roughly half-mile trip to Pier Point.

Public restrooms are available at multiple developed Pier locations, including family-oriented areas. Use the posted Pier map because the district is much longer than it appears from the entrance.

Pier entry, playground, splash pad, Spa Beach, lawns and public art are free. Parking, food, discovery-center admission, retail and some events cost separately.

The main promenade is paved, an accessible tram carries wheelchairs, and developed attractions include step-free routes. Wheelchairs and strollers are not rented onsite.

Leashed dogs are allowed in ordinary outdoor Pier areas but not on Spa Beach or in the Majeed Foundation Splash Pad. Businesses may set separate pet rules.

The playground, splash pad, beach, Discovery Center and food options can fill several hours. Bring sun protection and dry clothes; water-play supervision and beach conditions remain the caregiver's responsibility.

The free Downtown Looper stops at the Pier entrance about every 15 minutes, and the Central Avenue Trolley, SunRunner connections, bicycles and pedestrian routes serve downtown.

Onsite parking has strict time limits and no overnight parking. Check current art and attraction notices before visiting; Bending Arc is presently listed as temporarily closed, and lightning can stop water activities.

Check current Tampa Bay weather and operator alerts. Heat, lightning, tropical weather, heavy rain, wind, tides, rip currents and water-quality notices can close trails, beaches, splash pads, boat access or facilities independently.
