Crandon Beach

The two-mile developed beach east of Crandon Boulevard, with north and south parking areas, concessions, showers, and a changing offshore sandbar. Navigate to the exact pin rather than the general Crandon Park marker.

Current parking is $7 plus tax Monday-Thursday and $10 plus tax Friday-Sunday. Large lots still fill on peak holidays, and causeway traffic can add substantial time.

Beach and lifeguard operations are separate from the 8 a.m.-5 p.m. main office; verify current service and flags on arrival.

Accessible restrooms, showers, and concession facilities serve developed beach areas. Preserve trails have limited services, so stop before entering Bear Cut.

Calm water, picnic areas, playground and amusement facilities, nature programs, and concessions work well for families. The offshore sandbar shifts and should not be treated as a fixed shallow boundary.

The sandbar changes with storms and currents. Flotation devices are prohibited, and personal paddleboards or kayaks may not launch from the beach outside authorized operations.

Bus service crosses the Rickenbacker Causeway, but frequency and final walking distance vary. Cycling is possible but exposed to heat, wind, and causeway traffic.
