The Presidio

The Presidio grounds are open 24 hours daily. The Visitor Center is generally open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; playgrounds, museums, food, beaches, shuttles, and restrooms use separate schedules.

Paid parking is distributed near major destinations, with accessible spaces at Tunnel Tops, the Visitor Center, Crissy Field, and other areas. Baker Beach has two free lots.

Start at Presidio Visitor Center and Tunnel Tops for orientation, or route directly to Baker Beach, Fort Point, a trailhead, or an overlook. The park is too large for one useful pin.

Accessible restrooms are available at Presidio Transit Center, Tunnel Tops near the Outpost, the Visitor Center area, beaches, and staffed destinations; hours vary.

Park admission, Tunnel Tops, the Outpost, trails, overlooks, and Presidio GO are free. Paid parking, museums, lodging, food, golf, camping, and programs cost separately.

Tunnel Tops has flat routes and two wheelchair-accessible north-south paths. Accessible parking and the wheelchair-accessible Presidio GO serve major areas; natural trails vary.

Leashed pets are allowed in many outdoor areas but not playgrounds or indoor facilities; beaches and habitat areas have location-specific rules.

Tunnel Tops combines the Outpost nature playground, Field Station, lawns, picnic tables, restrooms, food vendors, and bridge views in the easiest family base.

Free Presidio GO routes connect downtown and destinations inside the park. Muni 30 and 43 also serve the Main Post and Tunnel Tops area.

Main Post access and safety construction runs from July 2026 into winter 2027, bringing detours, noise, and traffic. Check shuttle alerts, wind, fog, beach surf, and destination closures.
