Golden Gate Beach

Golden Gate Beach is the narrow western sand section below the bridge approach, closer to West Bluff and Fort Point than to the main East Beach facilities.

Paid parking serves East Beach and West Bluff, including accessible spaces. Lots fill on warm weekends and major event days; choose the end closest to your activity.

Outdoor shoreline and promenade access follows posted GGNRA hours. Parking, restrooms, the Warming Hut, programs, and staffed facilities use separate schedules.

Accessible restrooms are at East Beach, West Bluff near the Warming Hut, and Golden Gate Bridge Plaza. Drinking water is also available at these developed areas.

Beach, promenade, lawns, marsh overlooks, picnic areas, and general access are free. Parking, food, rentals, and programs may charge.

The 2.3-mile promenade is generally level with accessible parking and restrooms at both ends. East Beach offers a seasonal beach mat and beach wheelchairs by request.

Dog access varies by shoreline and habitat zone. Follow posted leash controls, protect marsh wildlife, and use the designated dog-washing station at East Beach.

East Beach combines sand, picnic tables, grills, restrooms, water, and a generally level promenade, making it the easiest family base.

Muni, Presidio GO, cycling, and walking connect Crissy Field with the Main Post and city. Stops may still require a waterfront walk.
