Hilltop walking loop

The hilltop walking loop connects the Painted Ladies view, gardens, lawns, playground, dog area, and tennis court but includes exposed slopes and busy crossings.

There is no park lot. Street parking is scarce and tour activity affects loading; use Muni, walking, cycling, or rideshare when possible.

Park hours are 5 a.m. to midnight. Restrooms are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in spring and summer and 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in fall and winter.

Accessible public restrooms use seasonal hours: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. spring/summer and 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. fall/winter.

Park, overlook, playground, dog area, lawn, and general recreation are free. Permits, reservations, tours, parking, and nearby food may cost.

The designated accessible entrance is at Hayes and Scott. The park is a hilltop, so routes from other corners can involve significant grades.

A designated off-leash dog play area is provided. Dogs must be leashed elsewhere and controlled around playgrounds, lawns, picnics, and crowds.

The dual-level accessible playground, lawns, picnic space, and short walking loop make a good neighborhood stop; hills and surrounding streets require supervision.
