Fiesta Island is leash-optional except in fenced nesting and youth-camp areas. Elsewhere in Mission Bay, leashed dogs are allowed only outside seasonal daytime restrictions: before 9 a.m. and after 4 p.m. in winter or after 6 p.m. in summer.

Casual picnicking is generally practical in designated lawn or table areas. Reserved shelters, permitted events, and sports use can control a specific space.

Route to the named cove or island, not only to Mission Bay Park.
