The 16th Street trailhead reaches the eastern habitat corridor from the south bank with fewer visitor services than the Audubon Center.

Six official trailhead addresses serve different banks and surfaces. Choose Central Avenue, 7th Avenue, 7th Street, 16th Street, or the Audubon Center before travel.

16th Street trailhead keeps its own gate, staffing, seasonal, maintenance, program, heat-restriction, or weather schedule. Check the cited official source and current Phoenix trail or facility alerts before leaving.

Restrooms and drinking water are most dependable during Audubon Center hours and at selected developed trailheads; remote segments may have no services.

Habitat trails, birding, and general Audubon Center admission are free. Programs, rentals, donations, equipment, and transportation may cost.

The paved South Overbank Trail offers flat ADA-accessible birding, while natural terrace paths and other trailheads vary in surface and amenities.

Leashed dogs are allowed only on paved trails and must not enter sensitive habitat. Heat, wildlife, and limited shade make this a poor midday pet destination.

Flat trails, birds, water habitat, free exhibits, and programs can suit families, but there is no playground and children must remain on designated paths.
