Papago Park fishing lagoons

Papago Ponds provide urban fishing and wildlife viewing from developed edges; an Arizona fishing license and current stocking rules apply, and swimming is prohibited.

Free lots are distributed on both sides of Galvin Parkway. Route to Hole-in-the-Rock, fishing ponds, zoo, Botanical Garden, golf, museum, or west trails rather than using one general pin.

East-side parking entrances are open 5:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.; west-side entrances are open sunrise to sunset. Trails are open 5:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m.; individual attractions keep separate hours.

Restrooms and water are available at selected developed nodes and attractions, not along every trail. Confirm the closest facility on the park map.

General park, trails, Hole-in-the-Rock, ponds, and ordinary picnics are free. Zoo, Botanical Garden, museums, golf, fishing licenses, ramada reservations, food, and events cost separately.

Several broad, low-elevation trails and developed areas are accessible or comparatively gentle, but sandstone, loose gravel, rock openings, heat, and attraction routes vary.

Leashed dogs are allowed on ordinary city park trails under posted rules; zoo, gardens, museums, golf, fishing edges, and extreme heat create separate restrictions and risks.

Short trails, Hole-in-the-Rock, ponds, zoo, gardens, and picnics make this a strong family destination. Closely supervise children around rock openings, water, cactus, and hot surfaces.
